Initiatives for young designers in China on ATTITUDE Platform

ATTITUDE RELOAD Fashion Show

ATTITUDE RELOAD Fashion Show

Beijing, China — It’s not easy anywhere in the world to get your name and your brand out especially when you are a foreigner in a foreign country. Communication barriers and limitations in funds make it difficult to create new opportunities. That said, there is something about China and a “something new” initiative that makes it an exciting time to be in a growing economy and David Ubl and Ralf are taking on the Big B by creating a platform for young talent at the ATTITUDE fashion shows.

On the 19th of May the second ATTITUDE fashion show will take place showcasing David Ubl’s SS2012 collection, RalfebyRalf, Wang LiMing, and Paloma Sanches Jewelry. The event will take place on the rooftops of Sanlitun Village at 4pm. The event titled “ATTITUDE RELOAD” was launched with a social media campaign designed by 360Fashion Network where the designers upload a video every day leading up to the fashion show documenting the photo shoot, the backstage to the fitting, and commentary from the participating designers.

“Our first fashion show was held at Sanlitun Village’s fashion hotel The Opposite House. Over 300 people came to the event and we couldn’t fit them all into the venue. It was a total success. People kept asking us when we were going to have another event, so we decided to take ATTITUDE to the next level announced ATTITUDE RELOAD.” says David Ubl, “This second event has gotten so big because of the social media campaign, we don’t know how we are going to fit them all into the Migas rooftop. Hence, we are already planning our 3rd fashion show event.”

“This season we used social media heavily and also incorporated MobileMags into our strategy by creating an APP for the event. With over 150,000 smartphones in the market it is THE way to create an invitation to our event that everyone can download to any phone and help us promote.” says the founder Ralf from RalfebyRalf.

Karl Lagerfeld Interviews Himself

Karl 1:  I have the vision of me in front of me, but I would like You to describe You, three words would be enough.

Karl 2:  Myself in 3 words I need more than that…First I have no opinion, Second I’m never happy with myself…Third I don’t deliver a description of my person, you have what you see, that’s all, there’s nothing behind.

Karl 1: What do you do to stay fresh and driven? …Is there a secret of your–of our–success?

Karl 2: …the only secret is WORK. Get your act together, there are not too many secrets, or perhaps live a decent life: don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs. …It depends on how much you want to do what you do…Don’t think you are a victim of the system, I don’t believe in that at all. If somebody in this business thinks he is a victim of the system, then it means he’s not in a real job, then he should be in another job….

Bas Kosters Calls Up Vodafone for Amsterdam Fashion Week 2012

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Revolutionary designer, Bas Kosters, Spring Summer Fashion Show was spent wild with color and a host of ringtones as the models jetted down the catwalk with big phones. The designer was sponsored by Vodafone this year and opened the show with his Anti Fashion Band singing to the runway a lovesong about calling. The fashion models walked confidently with puffy hair crimped out to the stratosphere with occasional interruptions of musical service with the classic “All our operators are busy with other customers, please hold the line…” boring operator voice freezing them wherever they were on the runway. The first time it happened, the crowd was sure that the DJ had pulled the plug in the sound booth–only to erupt in cheers and laughter when they heard the all too familiar Dutch voice asking them to wait on the line. With the next song reviving them back into their fast paced catwalk movement, every song had a phone reference. One could think that Bas Kosters had sold his soul to the Vodadafone devil if it wasn’t so well produced, thought out, and the mixed music done well to remind us that we are at the dawn of the mobile era. The only thing missing was the Bas Kosters mobile phone app being SMS’d to everyone in their seats.

With an explosion of fire, and freaky flickering lights, the finale was even surprising as the models ran back and forth gathering more participants to the team, ending with Bas Kosters himself on the runway and a standing ovation from the press.
